17th Century Silver-Mounted Miquelet Sicilian Pistol

An exquisite and ornate Sicilian coat pistol from the home of a nobleman.

This beautiful pistol was made for a nobleman to carry as their personal defence weapon. It has a two-stage polished iron barrel, the first part octagonal and ribbed in 13mm calibre. The iron lock is ornate and finely engraved, including the maker’s name, “S.Inglese”. The full walnut stock is embellished with sterling silver furniture of foliage and masks, including a grotesque mask on the butt. The belt hook is of iron and and the ramrod of wood with and engraved silver tip.

It would take pride of place in the European flintlockĀ  collector’s portfolio.
